Sudden slow internet on 1 laptop only

I am a novice so please excuse my ignorance. My Lenovo b50-80 is getting 6Mbps download and 1.28 Mbps upload. all other devices are getting faster/ adequate speeds 12.9 download and 5.61 upload (roughly). I updated all the drivers, ran tests for malware/ viruses/ etc nothing. Called charter spectrum and found that only the phones are recognizing 5G and after resetting the router and modem, was advised they needed to be replaced and that could be why my laptop is so slow. I'm new to this; however, I don't understand how that could be the root cause (as opposed to 1 of a number of contributory factors) as the other devices on the same network are not as slow as the Lenovo.
I thought I'd ask you experts before I go and buy another laptop. thanks so much for your help

Sounds like the router is not accepting the laptop wifi card so go into your router settings and see if you can do something about it
