Question Suggestions for laptop for casual use

My current laptop is about 8-9 years old and is starting to show some wear and tear. Im starting to browse for a new laptop but dont really know where to look or start. I would want a laptop just for casual use such as watching videos, streaming, browsing and storing files. Not interested in gaming on it. Would also want it to be more of the smaller and slimmer side. Budget wise ideally less than $1,000. If anyone has suggestions or recommendations, would really appreciate it!
