Hello, I will be a freshman in the fall in college and I not sure if I should invest in a Surface pro. I will be majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology and a minor in computer sciences or data science (undecided between the 2). I currently have a Dell Inspiron 15 (7000 Series) with a core i7 at 2.5 GHz with 1 TB of storage, which is slow on startup and from sleep mode. I am unsure if I should purchase the faster Surface (which is quite expensive) or if I should stick to my current laptop. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Solution
The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series is more powerful than the Surface Pro 4 because it has either a quad core i5 / i7 CPU vs. a dual core i5 / i7 CPU in the Surface. If you feel that the Dell is slow on start up and waking up, then I recommend you install a M.2 SATA SSD and clone the C: drive to the SSD.

The following video details how to upgrade the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 with a Samsung SSD and clone Windows from the hard drive to the SSD. It will also apply to the newer Dell Inspiron 15 7567 which should also have just one screw securing the bottom panel.
