Tablet audio insert is not working

So for some reason my samsung tablet will only let audio come though the left hand side plug. So to make sure it wasn't the headphones I plugged them into every other device I had with an audio plug, then proceeded to use different headphones in the tab with the same problem. Any ideas on why this is happening??

tab jack is defective if no headphone work properly in it.
