Talk me out of this laptop...

I'm thinking about upgrading from a G73jh Best Buy edition. (HD5870m, 740qm?)

To this G75.

Dang thats a baller ass laptop. But Nvidia Maxwell is due out in the Springtime.
I would go for the 14nm shrink of Haswell, BROADWELL.
Battery life should be amazing on them.

Yea I would take the ASUS over an MSI definitely.
If you can wait a little while I don't think you will regret waiting.

This thing will always be plugged in anyway. I only used my G73 unplugged once in the last three years. I think it lasted 45 minutes!

Why not just build a desktop then? You could build a faster desktop for less money than that laptop, especially if it never gets moved or unplugged?

I never said it wouldn't be moved. I said it would always be plugged in. It's nice to have a portable beast when I need it. Besides, I already built a tricked out desktop.
