WTH, are you kidding me? Sarah is 20-something years young.

P.S.: I'm not a stalker.

Are you joking? Do you think that the Tom's readership is reflective of the general U.S. population? Our readers are far more likely than an average U.S. resident to own an iPhone, believe me. This conversation is a little silly--we cover iPhones here at Tom's Guide, take it or leave it.

It's great that you cover iPhones/iPods/iEverythings, and it's definitely 'nit-picky' to point out that not everyone will have an iPod owner on their holiday gift-buying list because exaggeration is a common part of general expression in our culture. I am a regular Tom's reader, but 95% of my gift-list people aren't... In fact, in this particular example, none of the people on my list who ARE Tom's reader have any i____ products but I know at least two not on the list who have iPhones/iPods. Not really trying to make a point here but it is interesting how these things go sometimes.

DeathAdder is easily the worst and overpriced Razer mouse. It's an okay mouse, but for $80 bucks? Bought it and returned it the next day - just leave it at that.

Yeah--not everybody is like a Tom's reader. You are so right. That's why we're going to have a bunch of different gift guides, each designed with different types of techies in mind. (And if the people on your list have no interest in tech...well...I guess Tom's just can't help ya ;) )

You think that's rough? Are you new here? ;)

Traditionally, I'm the one complaining that the commenters here are too mean. That's why your comment is funny.

I appreciate your level-headed responses to all this. I hadn't eaten anything yet when I started posting earlier I was feeling somewhat fisicious. My apologies :)

Yeah, he must be new. After all, Tom's is a site well known for editors who post overly defensive replies to posts intended as jokes (a jab about this site’s poor editing and not about interest in iPhones, so you missed it).
My original post was a joke about returning an "iPhone onwer" to the store were I to get one as a gift. If you read your article, it lists gift ideas for yourself or other like this:
tech gear
laptops,
all-in-one PCs
smaller stocking-stuffer items
iPhone owners

Let’s play “One of these things is not like the others”. Can you find it? You couldn’t when you were supposed to be doing your job as editor!

I totally got your joke--I even said "that's cute!" Go back and check. Don't worry, your cleverness did not go un-appreciated.

I just called it like I see it, just because you don't see eye to eye with a reader doesn't call for you to belittle them. Both parties made valid points and to me it doesn't sound professional for an "Editor" to label someone's opinion as silly and laughable.

[citation][nom]Tomsguiderachel[/nom]Oh, that's cute!Apple has sold 35 million iPhones. Odds are you're buying a gift for one of them. It would not make sense for Tom's Guide to ignore this demographic. Agreed?Rachel RosmarinEditor, Tom's Guide[citation][nom]cashews[/nom]I just called it like I see it, just because you don't see eye to eye with a reader doesn't call for you to belittle them. Not belittling nor did she say their opinion was silly or laughable. She said "This conversation is a little silly"

On a side-note, I don't particularly like this list. The only three things I could see buying are the Zune, the ASUS player and the projector. This list serves more as a wishlist than something attainable by "Tech Experts". A quick run-through on NewEgg & and keeping the prices reasonable would be more interesting. Thank you for letting me know of an alternative to the Western Digital media box - though this one may have some issues, its a great deal for under $100.

I'm a bit new on how this forum-type commenting thing works on here, as you can tell, so apologies for the odd formatting. I don't see an edit, hence my response here...

Oh well..

Huh, didn't even notice the radio button for what type of comment was being typed. This one is {+} : D

I agree-there's no way any one person would receive more than one of these items. The point of it is to give would-be gift givers ideas on what certain types of "techies" might wish to receive. Obviously no single list is going to please everybody so stay tuned for more lists in the coming weeks (and they'll be more affordable than this one).

I find it a bit shameful on Tom's Hardware's behalf that they have to rely on "sexy women" as figureheads for their gift guide. Is their content not good enough to attract hits on its own without pictures of sexy women?

It's a bit of a gimmick if you ask me. There are plenty of other good tech sites with excellent tech gift guides without pictures of half naked women.

Thank you for your comment. You make a valid point, but I will argue that Sarah's help in modeling the gadgets is not demeaning in any way (she is not half dressed as you say), and since the festive tradition of having a helpful model has been going on for years at Tom's, I felt that it wasn't my place to get rid of it. I could only make sure it was accomplished in a tasteful and fun way. Hope that explanation helps explain why we do this every year.

You Tool. You have got to be joking or bored. Stop trying to stir up trouble with lame post. It is not like Tom's is a porn site that just so happens to have tech related articles. Actually I think I know why this bothers you so much. Your a fatty arent you? Thats cool I dont mind a fatty, I mean everyone needs lovin but you may get more if you liked yourself better and not try to belittle others to make you feel better about your back side.
