I have the same problem. I suspect the condensing lens has melted. I have removed what I believe is the light engine from the 61md10. I have screwdriver in hand, and I need someone to tell me roughly where the melted component is and how to access it.

My plan is to make a glass lens.

What do I take apart next? and have you found a glass lens maker?
