10 years ago this would not have even made the news, much less statements of the family taken and made public. China is industrializing and changing. It's horrible that this is happening, but it's does show progress by the fact that we are even reading about it.

[citation][nom]evolve60[/nom]And as if we don't have internet addicts in North America? Japan? Other parts of the world? Hmm, in japan their called NEETs in China their sent to boot camp, in America their called people with disorders and so for some reason China is bad for something like this? smarten up people shit like this happens everywhere, i don't see people complaining when some fucked up shit happens in America, at least not to the extent you people are.[/citation]

I live in Ireland. People here will attack America at the drop of a hat. I think the opposite to what you are saying is actually the case. If something happens in America, people jump all over it and say how fucked up America is, where if something happens in China or some God-forsaken 3rd-world country in Africa, no one gives a shit, because no one expects any better from those savages anyway.

[citation][nom]sicundercover[/nom]Well I consider the US a 2nd world nation at this point. But with that said, if anyone in anyway is suprised by this; then you apparently havnt brushed up on your Chinese history.[/citation]

:( please refer to this page before calling the US a 2nd world nation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_World

The US is and probably will always be a 1st world nation because its government is a western democracy.

nexgenasian: Western Democracy and $1 will buy you a cup of coffee at just about any McDonalds. Our democracy has been completely corrupted, our industries compromised and sold off the lowest oversea bidder, and quite frankly, there is nowhere to go but down from here. Much less, the rednecks from the 3rd world parts of America seem to think that these problems started with Obama, and that any attempt of the government to help the poor(about 70% of us and growing) is "socialism".

Poor kid... if he didn't die, he might become another Bill Gates.

But seriously, this kind of boot camp is almost semi-millitary. And people get beaten in millitary loads of times. Nothing wrong with beating. But beating someone to death, that's another matter.

Still, I favor this kind of boot camp if managed properly. At least, it's better than some disorderly kids who go to school and open fire to kill a bunch of non-disorderly kids. oh well, I forgot, that wasn't a problem in China.

I guess you didn't read that page. Basically you're using the phrase incorrectly. If you were to say America wasn't a great nation anymore, I might agree. But what you're saying is its not a 1st world nation anymore which by definition isn't correct because 1st world was defined with the US as the standard of what a 1st world nation is.

On a side note, I think there are plenty of places worse than here. Please don't take for granted your ability to post this message on a forum made in the USA. So thanks now, bye bye.

Why? It sounds like their treatment was extremely effective.

Actually America is a republic with a democratic electoral system ( although I do question how fixed the elections are at times) just wanted to point that out. The only thing i can't get over is why people can't see over the stereotypes from other countries. Americas government decided to attack this country for this reason... that means they are arrogant etc.... someone died in boot camp in china they are savages.. and it goes on in every country.. why don't people see that in most cases ( not all ) it's the government they are judging not the people... people in general don't want to fight. /rant thank you for reading

[citation][nom]jonpaul37[/nom]Lol, China a 3rd world country... China is NOT a 3rd world country, yes, they have parts of the country that are third world, but that is no different than America... America has Republicans and trailer trash and Nascar, that's basically third world... What, no?[/citation]

China is not a third world country, no, but neither are parts of America, even the "trailer trash, nascar, Republicans". They still have it much better than quite a few impoverished nations in Africa or South America for example.

Republicans do not equate to "third world" either. Funny thing, that a lot of people picture "nascar, trailer trash" as republicans, but for the most part they are not. Conservatives and republicans tend to be more wealthy and are not fans of social programs. The images that many people dream up of "trailer trash" tend to support said social programs, going against your typical conservative or republican's true ideals. They might believe they are republicans or conservatives, and in some aspects may agree with those ideals (example: banning gay marriage and religion), but true conservatives/republicans do not believe in living off the "government tit".. though they do support "corporate welfare", go figure. lol

I personally do not agree with either side of the spectrum, but to equate republicans and conservatives with "trailer trash" is pretty far fetched, even if it's a common misconception. Yes, they might dream or agree with "Bushy goodness", but in reality I seriously doubt most "trailer trash" support tax breaks for the wealthy and cutting social programs like welfare.

Republicans are trailer trash as much as Democrats are ghetto living petty criminals looking for a handout. America is still the richest country on Earth, even the majority of what we consider "poor" have their own cars and cable TV.

As for Chinese, I don't think they are any more susceptible to internet addiction than anyone else. Remember that young people in China don't have as many entertainment options yet. There aren't as many clubs or bars around and most people are too poor to hang out at one anyway. Drugs are very rare and users face harsh sentences so drug use is almost unheard of. The youth also don't have their own apartments and places so they can't just invite their friends to hang out late at night. A lot of people living in the United States don't realize the luxury and opulence of their lifestyle, they take for granted having their own place, a car, a computer and several console systems. Most Chinese don't have the same entertainment options available and the internet is the only form of entertainment they can use at night other than TV. So that's why so many are on the internet, there's nothing else they can do.

Plus Chinese parents tend to be stricter about "wasting time" playing computer games and using the internet. Allowing a teenager to hang out with friends till Midnight is unheard of, you just don't see as much of the uninvolved type bad parenting that we have in America. That's why these parents put their kid in an internet addiction camp, because they are involved and know what their kid is doing. It seems to me too many American parents are too involved with their own wants and needs and pay little to no attention to their children; they have no clue what their kids are doing or thinking. So when the kid goes out and commits suicide by shooting up the school, it's a shock to them. How could you not know your kid is thinking of killing himself and shooting up the school? The clueless parents are the most shocking aspect to me, and the most despicable too.

Alright, if you people are unaware of the brutality in China you're an ignorant dearest comrade and should go to china and say China's government is f'd in front of an officer.
