Telstra TV set up

Hi I have tried to set up my Epson projector with new Telstra TV box. I have picture but no sound. I have tried using a switch box without luck. The sound is normally through a pioneer surround sound system. Any clues on what I can use? Back of Telstra box has 1 X HDMI, power plug and ethernet socket. When I had it set up on Apple TV, the switch box worked on Optical 1. Projector is Epson EH-TW3600

With any video + sound output on one hdmi cable must connect to an avr of sorts with additional connections so sound is played and video is passed out via another hdmi to the video destination.

Assuming that your switch box is an HDMI input selector with audio extraction check if there are any menu settings in the Telestra box that will help. Try the box on a TV to make sure that it is sending audio via HDMI.
