Hello, I just bought a Laptop AMD Quad-Core A10-5750M 2.5GHz, 8GB ram, 500GB, AMD Radeon HD 8750M 2GB HPprobook 455 G1 and I am worried about my cpu temp while gaming , Highest temp was 87°C on Skyrim (1366x768 Antialaising 2 Sampels,Antisotropic 4 Samples, Texture High, Radial Blur medium, No FXAA or reflected objects) I wanna know what u guys think of this laptop , i can return it in 30 days, the cpu fan is like crying in gaming and i have a decent cooling pad,but the fps are great the game runs so smoothly. BTW i tested cpu temp with Prime95 for like 20 min never passed 70°C I am really so confused, if u hear the cooler u might think its gonna shutdown, although the game runs so perfectly i cant belive it, in normal task the cpu temp is around 30-40°C but sometimes poops to 50-60°C please give me your opinion about this laptop Thank you.

Solution
Well the Intel one has a better graphic card, and the CPU supports Hyperthreading which is a plus if you're running multiple programs at the same time, but has only 4Gb of memory which is a minus. All together I'd get the Intel and I would add 4Gb memory and an ssd drive.

Hp laptops are well known for their heating and noise problems. I have an Hp Pavillion DV6 (2012) but it gets really hot even when playing facebook games. I'd suggest you to get an ssd drive or to change the brand. SSD drives uses less power and it won't get as hot as a mechanical hdd

I wouldn't worry to much here is a full comparison of both cards http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-8750M-vs-GeForce-GT-740M, the gt 740gt has higher texture rate and higher clock speed than 8750m, so don't worry and enjoy gaming :)

Hi :).New laptop just arrived, same model just a new cpu i5 4200m and -4gb ram + 250gb hdd anyway, in normal tasks temp is 40-44°C, and in gaming 65-74°C (Skyrim 1366x768 High texture,Anisotropic Filtering 4 samples, Antialiasing 2 samples ) he spiked at 81 °C once, but the graphics are great and the fps more stable then before. I am using win8.1 Pro should i use win 7?
Thanks

I'm glad for you, the temps are high but it's nothing unusual for a laptop, I suggest you to get a ventilated support in the future (with at least 2 fans) it will make the difference http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-FAN-NTP3-Business-Notebook-Laptops/dp/B000A0GWN4/ref=cm_lmf_tit_10.

If you like windows 8 it's fine, I personally hate it, hate those menus

Well, thank you again, I don't like win8 either but i hear it might be better than 7 for gaming, anyway you said the i5 will make a difference and i can see it LeagueOfLegends runs at 60fps all High shadows medium, temp never passed 60°C.Thanks
