Now I see why WP7 isn't taking off. Awful games and no apps. MS should be releasing some core apps themselves to get the ball rolling. This is a real shame because WP7 looks really nice and seems to have the potential to be a winner.

[citation][nom]hoofhearted[/nom]If devs could have easily just ported their dx9 code over instead of dealing with Silverlight, then MS might have had a winner.[/citation]

DX9 can not do all that silverlight can but silverlight can do to an extent what DX9 can. Theres a reason why netflix DRM is silverlight based... and not DX9 based.

If they took advantage of DX9 then they might still need to use silverlight to take advantage of features that dont exist for DX.

In the end if they used just silverlight, and got really good at it (since this will most likely be the method to take advantage of hardware features built into upcoming phones).

its all about cost saving and what is easier in the long run man... not bandaid shortcuts.

Agreed. As a more business oriented user, where's the app for local Outlook synchronisation? The reason I still use an old Windows Mobile 6.1 dinosaur from HTC is because the local Outlook sync is still there.
