Solved! The touchpad on my laptop is working to move the mouse only at the top of the pad and even sometimes it stops moving it. What

Only the top half inch of the pad moves the cursor and when I do highlight something I want to click with the bottom of the pad it works so what's going on and what can I do? It is a Dell Inspiron 15, 7000 series. Thanks

It’s not a MacBook so you should be using a mouse anyway

You might want to check for updates to your drivers, including the Synaptics driver (if your device uses one).

If this does not help, and an external mouse works fine, then it may well be a hardware issue.

I looked for an update but there weren't any. I'm going to try the bluetooth mouse and see if that helps. The laptop is a touchscreen which is great but I use the touchpad more. At least I have use of the laptop. Thank you. If you think or hear of anything else that may help I will check back.
