Have rogers yahoo e-mail account with a ton of folders.

Can I download everything using IMAP into account "Imap".

Yet setup a new account in thunderbird set as "POP" and simply move all e-mail from IMAP account to POP account? This is done all within thunderbird.

I'm trying to download all the e-mails and folders a user has created within their rogers yahoo e-mail account.

Hi,

Been using thunderbird for years and saddly you have to recreate the account.
Best thing to do:
1- backup local folders and account folders (left click account and go to settings to find the path)
2- delete the account
3- create the account and be sure to select pop account
4- find out where the and account folders is(left click account and go to settings to find the path)
5- quit thunderbird and copy the files from the previous account to the new one

open thunderbird and it should work now

Try my question again, sorry, I will rephase.

Thunderbird:

Account 1 > Original Account Setup as IMAP

Account 2 > New account using fake credentials because it doesn't need it yet. Set up as POP.

Can I download all mail from IMAP original account and literally drag it onto the account 2 within thunderbird to copy the e-mails from IMAP account to POP account?

Then go back into POP account and change the settings appropriately.

Would this work? Any guess?
