Any suggestions on a price for a Mint and Sealed THX WOW LaserDisc? I
have received several suggestions but most are by people wishing to
purchase the item. :) I will only part with it for the right price,
most likely on a secure eBay auction to provide some protection to
both parties. Anyone interested Please post a reply.

They are pretty easy to find on eBay, sealed at $60, sometimes less.
Mint unsealed went for $31 recently. Gone are the days that people
were paying $150+ for them.

"sealed"? That reduces its value to nil since its playback-ability is
unknown.

And before you bring up the fact it's the "THX" WOW LD, please recall
all the SONY-DADC-pressed THX-certified LDs that were rotted right out of
the shrinkwrap.

For your peace of mind and sanity given the unknown state of the LD, I'd be
happy to take it off your hands if you simply ship it to me FedEx overnight.

:) :)

Does anyone know how long the 'WOW' demo is from the disc? Is it
really that good to justify paying $20-$60 for a couple of minutes of
demo material?

FYI, for any LD, as long as you can get any three copies (rotted or
not), you can make a pristine capture copy automagically using
AviSynth and a cool filter. Not going to play back on an LD player, of
course, but what you'll have will be perfect.

It's about 10-15 minutes, as I recall.

Side 2 of the disc has a lengthier program about how sound design is
done, showing behind-the-scenes footage of the post-production for
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I don't believe this footage is
found on the Indy DVD box set.

Care to explain how combining 3 rotted laserdiscs of swirling rainbow
colors will produce anything but 3 times the amount of rot?

I assume he means take the scenes without rot symptoms from one disc and
edit them together with the other scenes without rot from another disc.
Of course, if all three discs have rot in the same place, you're
screwed.

If someone already has the SW LDs, would it still be worth it to get
this disc? BTW- I'm assuming the SW clips are from the THX/Definitive
master, no?

The "WOW" demonstration is a mixture of clips from Star Wars, Indiana
Jones and Willow edited together into a montage of action scenes. There
is no new or previously-unseen footage.

I believe the WOW disc was released prior to the Definitive Collection
box set, but the selected clips in the demo have been cleaned up using
the same THX standards.
