Time to jump the Windows 'ship'...?

Have encountered what likely is a very big problem with my Win 7 (Ultimate) OS.
(further details here - http://tinyurl.com/nrbv9ep - ).

I have a growing sense that a solution to the "three interacting parts" is not going to be found any
time soon. I have this great dread for the time stretching out 'yonder' in order to solve it.

I am torn two ways.

Subsequent software I wish to purchase utilises Outlook (on premise) for email (as well as Office). Which I wish to install.

Yet I wonder if it is time to 'jump the Windows ship'. But to where... or what? I don't utilise Macs, so OS X & its kin are out. What else is there, that is quite user friendly?

Or should I 'stick with it' (Win 7) & tough out the current problem?

You can get Microsoft Office (and Outlook) on MacOS, if you "jump the ship". But browser infestation (if that's your only problem) is no reason to abandon Windows.
