So i've done some research online, and i'm really torn between a few gaming laptops (yes laptops, I don't have an empty desk laying around nor have the money or space for that although it's probably worth it if I did).

Here's the one I want the most, the only issue being the price, the MSI GE70 Apache Pro

Goes around $1,000 on other websites

Here's my second most desired idea, it's similar to the Apache Pro, just cheaper and has no backlit keyboard

About $800 on other websites

And there's always the Lenovo Y50 and Y40
Y50:

About $1,000 from what i've seen, ouch
Y40:

Around $669, not bad at all, but is it worth it?

My budget is probably maxed at $1,000, i'm not sure because i'll either ask for this for my birthday next month or for Christmas when I got my old laptop i'm on right now (I need an upgrade, half my Steam games run at 10 FPS).

I'm looking to use it for games like Rust, Arma 3, Skyrim, Fallout 4 when it comes out, games that ask for quite a bit. I'm not a genius, so I came here to ask which one is really the best. I've seen good and bad reviews for the Leopard, which currently i'd get if the Apache is too costly. I want it to last a few years without slowing down or breaking down. My current laptop is an HP laptop with an Intel Pentium 2030M @2.50GHz with 4 gigs of RAM, not bad, just not good enough for my games.

So which one of these would any of you recommend for my moderate gaming? Would the MSIs be worth it or do they have major flaws?

Also, kind of a side question, what determines a download speed, like on Steam? Is it all purely your Internet or would an SSD help with that? Thanks a bunch!
