Question Toshiba E45: BIOS update w/o live battery

The BIOS check on this Satellite/Dynabook E45-B4200 disallows the execution of update without Both AC Power and some level of charge on battery. The battery on this one is dead, like really dead. Is there a way to override so I can get rid of the buggy 1.0 BIOS?
