Toshiba L50D-B -wont boot , beep code

Hi all,

I have a Toshiba l50B-d that wont boot.

The beep codes are 2 long ,2 short , 3 long , 2 short.

I have trawled the interwebs and these forums (great content !) for beep codes that identify the issue.

Initially I have managed a few times to get into the bios , also had the display RTC screen. Reset the time/date then reboot and the same beep codes.

It seems that this is a proprietary bios (ie Toshiba) please someone correct me if I am wrong. ?

It seems the CMOS battery function is actually the normal laptop battery. Battery seems to hold charge (the only sure way would be to replace the battery)

I have done the removal of battery/drain power (30 seconds on power button)

All out of idea's at the moment.

Thanks , I have checked that out already.

Weird thing is if I press ESC when powering on it gets to boot Windows okay. Otherwise I get the beeping codes.

I suspect the battery at this stage , dont want to spend $50 on a battery if thats not the problem.
