Toshiba laptop touchpad problem

I have Toshiba satellite laptop. I had the touchpad disabled and using a mouse. About 2 weeks ago I had to have windows reinstalled because of viruses. Now, there is no elan touchpad option on the 'mouse' link from the control panel. It used to be there. I have been looking all over the internet for a solution to this. All I have found does not work for me. I have also looked at the user guide for this laptop to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Did you reinstall the touchpad driver that you can download from Toshiba support? If not, you need to download and install the driver.
