I have 2 Toshiba LED TV's, both are model #: 46L5200U1, that are having identical issues. The screen will begin to flicker, and then cut out entirely, but the sound remains on. Sometimes after an hour or two, but usually after only a few minutes of use. It happens on all inputs, with or without a source plugged in. Turning off the set, then back on will restore the picture, but only for a few minutes. They started doing this within days of each other. I have been unable to find any references to this online, despite having identical units exhibiting identical behaviors. The sets had been installed in a restaurant, each had a cable box run to it via hdmi cable. Has anyone seen this issue before? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

locate de T-CON board a board with 2 ribbon cable that get to lcd pannel and another cable that comming from digital board of tv.,the T-CON pcb is usualy located in middle top or middle down of the back of screen , after located T-CON board and removed it , locate a surfacemounted fuse usualy next of input pin that feed power on T-CON board it maybe be marked 12V or 24V 1,5A or not , , on 90% of times this fuse get open because spike of power comming from used powersupply of tv , usualy badcaps cause instability and are no more able to make a smooth switch on. ripple on power on smack parts and eventualy it will cause a fuse to get partialy open .. good luck note ,, this fuse look pretty close to a surface mounted resistor , but insead marked as 101 ok any kind of letter its comonly marked as UC or Some letters are stamped insead of numeric value ,

I also have two Toshiba TV's model 46l5200u1. Both are doing the same thing. I purchased a back light inverted and thought I had one fixed, only to have it do the same thing after a few hours. I've done some research, and found that there are many people out there having the same problem. I filed a report with Consumer Affairs. Looks like there may be a class action lawsuit with Toshiba with several models. 46l5200u1 was listed as one of them. The problem seems to be a undersized led strip that overheats. Found a replacement, but the cost was almost $300 just for the part. Changing it looks to be a pain as well. Good luck.

It would be nice if you posted your source for the LED strip in Romani.

But what if, just like me, you have no clue as to how to do all this (what does "jumper a wire" even mean?), what do you do? Find a repair shop and show them your answer maybe?

I tried all that was suggested above and nothing worked. Would have cost me $1400 to change the broken part. $1000 down the drain. Was told Toshiba pulled out of the market. What a waste.

Hi,

I found a "temporary" solution, but have may have to dig to find it. It involves opening up the TV and unhooking a wire that feeds a signal to to main board to shut down the screen. This is what I did "shrike0064 said:
The Main Processor board is commanding the LCD back light to turn off via the DIM control line. With a voltmeter check the voltage on the DIM line pin 15 on the power supply board connector of the cable going to the main control board. The pins are labeled. The DIM line drops from 3.4 vdc to zero when the screen blanks. The BLON pin 16 stays at 3.4 vdc. Turn the set off and jumper a wire between pins 15 DIM, and 16 BLON, shorting them together. Now turn the set on and the back light will stay on. This connection inhibits the main control board from blanking the screen upon loss of signal" This was posted by shrike0064, and so far it has worked. But it may be only a temporary solution because one of the led strips are going bad and will have to be replaced to make your tv whole. Hope this helps.

I also have this problem..just after 4 months after out of warranty. Btw, i'm Mizi from Malaysia and had Toshiba 39L4300VM. I bought on December 2013. Last night the tv was OK and i can watch tv like usual but after i come back from work this morning, it doesn't work. I thought it was because i use hdmi cable to connect to my laptop but it's not.

After i had research at Internet, i found there is many people had this problem. My tv has power but no image. I found how to troubleshoot on YouTube (https://goo.gl/L9K9ZJ) and found that it must be my tv main board was problem. My TV has backlight but just no image was appears.

I also call Toshiba Call Centre (Malaysia) locate at Penang and it was recommended to ask technician to come to my house to check it with it cost RM75 just for come and check. I ask the call centre there is no ways to reset this TV? and he said there is no reset button but after i look again be careful, i find the reset button on the tv. I try to reset but nothing changed.

After i troubleshoot at my own, i think it was main board problems but i think i will also wait for the technician to come to my house to check it again on Tuesday (26 April 2016). I just wanna know how much the cost to replace the new main board. If it was more than RM500, i think i will buy the new TV since currently there is promotions on GEMFIVE.

I also try the solutions from "shrike0064" but i'm not done since i'm bad at the electronic boards. Haha..Btw, thanks for the solutions. ;)

To give everyone a heads up, in case they are thinking of buying a Toshiba, I bought a 55" 1080p LED TV (55L310U) from Best Buy less than a week ago and started having that same issue - screen goes black and no sound . After 30 sec or so the audio comes back. Thank goodness this happened early so I can bring it back. Costco here I come.

Riley did u just cut the wire? I don't see where pin 15 is labeled. I see 16 labeled. I just assume 15 and 16 are connected with the 10 or so other wires. Any insight would be great.
