Is this Toshiba Qosmio X70-ABT3G22 notebook really have overheating performance degrade issues? how far it is correct?can this be controlled by a cooling pad only?
I have also heard that nvidia optimus technology
tries to save battery and downgrade performance while on battery?
Please relieve me from all the rumours.

Okay so i have this laptop and yes it can get hot. My max has been 86c and yes i know that is hot, But i have mine overclocked because all i need this to do is last about 1.5 years till i can get different one. And Toshiba it sell has downgraded the performance in the laptop. Because the normal graphics clock speed is around 850mhz or something around there and they have this under clocked to 705mhz that is why i have overclocked to get back to what i should run at. And the battery sucks max on power saving mode is at max 2.5hrs. With game on high performance then maybe .5 hrs. With the opimus it does but it depends on what you do in the nvidia control panel like force the program to run of the nvidia card or force the whole computer to only use the nvidia card. And the heat can be kind of solved with a cooling pad like about 10c which is good amount but yea. And if the laptop hits about 80c in full screen mode while playing a game yo will hear a pop then it will shut off and you will have the remove the battery and unplug it to be able to turn it back on. But i have messed with the settings so much that it doesnt do that till about 90c i havent tested that yet and dont plan to. I did notice once that the graphics card temp for 1sec hit 143c but i think that was a temp glitch.
