Toshiba satellite L500 start up problem

Hello,

My Toshiba L500 laptop will only stay on while I hold down Esc, in which case I still need to press F12 and Enter and start it in safe mode, , but as soon as I release Esc, the laptop turns off straight away. Is there any way to fix this?

Send it to Toshiba for repairs if still under warranty.
Otherwise start looking for a replacement laptop (and probably not a Toshiba one).
