Toshiba Satellite L755-S5153 not booting to swapped, known-good HDD

It seems like this might be a security thing with Satellites or something might need to be changed in the BIOS but I can't seem to find clear information on it. Is there something extra that needs to be done for this model to boot to a swapped-out HDD?

My fault. I had swapped out some HDDs before with no problem so I didn't realize the OS of the drive has to be "close enough" to the hardware of the new laptop. This one wasn't close enough, but it does boot with a Toshiba-tailored OS drive!
