I own the Toshiba Satellie C55D-B5242, and recently the computer has been messing up on it's power. The jack isn't holding the cord in properly and it's stopped charging.

For awhile I was able to jiggle the cord in to get it to receive power, but recently it has stopped working all together. I've taken off the back panel and tried inserting the cord into the jack but the light that indicates the computer is receiving power still won't turn on.

What can I do to fix it without a big expense or a lot of hard work?

You can get a replacement jack easily https://www.amazon.com/C55-A5246NR-C55D-A5201-C55D-A5206-C55DT-A5307-C55DT-A5348/dp/B00M2S9TNM Make sure that it matches your model.

Not sure what you mean about a lot of hard work, you would need to dis-assemble the laptop and install the new part. May need to solder it in place, I don't know how your model holds them in. If that is more than what you can do, you can pay someone to fix it, you can check prices around you for that, but will probably be about $50 for labor.
