Toshiba Satellite Pro P300 Ethernet Problems

Hi all, hope this is in the right forum

Just wiped and reinstalled Vista on a recently acquired Satellite Pro P300.
I installed the correct wireless and network drivers from the Toshiba site, but when I plug an ethernet cable in... nothing. I looked under device manager and the only network adapter there is the wireless one. There are two uninstalled devices but neither of them are the network adapter.

Is there a reason it isn't showing up in device manager?

Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? The laptop is pretty much useless to me without internet/network

I realize this is more than a year after the original post but the same thing just happened to me on a Satellite A300... Did you ever manage to solve the problem? How did you do it?
