Hello

I've got a Samsung NP930X2K-SO2US, which I downgraded to win7-64bit. Everything works fine except the touchpad. The strange thing is that under Device Manager there isn't any yellow questionmarks but the touchpad works when I go into the BIOS.

Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this problem? Also in the BIOS there is a setting under "Advanced" that let's you "enable/disable" the touchpad. I can confirm that it's set to "Enable"

Many thanks

it should tell you the actual name/model number rather than a hardware id

though you should be able to get the hardware id in device manager as long as you can find the touchpad there

might be under something like input devices or something similar

Your laptop came preinstalled with Windows 8.1 which is what the unit was designed for. I've noticed you have a thread of similar nature, here, but not for the trackpad.

In Device Manager+Proprieties, can you identify the manufacturer of the track pad, chances are you could download the drivers from the manufacturer themselves, like Synaptics or Alps.

With all the time spent with workarounds, you should reconsider moving to Windows 8.1.

Yes it's for the same laptop, I know I'm going against what the laptop was designed for but I just like windows7.
I hope I can find a workaround. Would the touchpad device be under: "Mice and other pointing devices" or "System Devices"

There aren't any yellow questionmarks in "Device Manager" and that makes it difficult to locate the Hardware ID of the touchpad.

Thank you
