Tracman marble fx mouse

i have a logitech trackman marble fx trackball mouse which have connected to my new laptop through a ps2 to usb convertor.the computer recognises my mouse but when i try to assign the buttons for the mouse a 3 button mouse appears so i cannot assign the buttons

Maybe you need to install the Trackman's software? It should have a control panel that lets you change what each of the special buttons do
