transfer apps to sd card

I transferred several downloaded apps to a sd card. The apps went fine, but the data didn't. How do I get the data to transfer too. I try to open the apps but they won't -- it's just a black screen. I tried to move them back to the device storage but it says unable to move. Any ideas??
