How do I transfer programs from a hard drive on a computer whose mother board failed to a hard drive on a new computer. Game program files were transferred via a docking station to the new computer, but there is no way to open them. I planned on installing the old hard drive into the new computer as a second hard drive. How do I transfer those files from the old hard drive to the new one.? Both computers ran/run Windows 10.

You have to reinstall programs. The windows registry tracks those type things and the new computer registry knows nothing about programs that weren't installed. Just copying them doesn't update all the necessary things.

I though that I would have to reinstall the programs. If I install the old hard drive along side of the one that is in the new computer, how do I access the old drive? I could then be able to play the games without having to re-download them.

You can't get around having to reinstall the software on the new system. The registry on the new system knows nothing of those programs.
