Transferring Kaspersky with new hardware in my laptop

I have recently bought a new SSD and SSHD for my laptop and I was wondering before I have to reinstall Windows and other applications.
Will I have to buy another copy of Kaspersky total security 2018 or can I just use my current license which has 290 days remaining?
If so could anyone help me with some information on the steps of how to transfer the license?

Put simply, reinstall and when they ask for the key reference the email or card with that info.

I would point out...and I recall this on sketchy memory, but wasn't there a major security flaw found in Kapersky products?
