Can I transfer photos from my GalaxyS7 to my omputer using a USB cable?

Sure. I do that all the time. It is always best to move or at least back up things like photos, videos, etc., to a computer or cloud account. This can prevent loss through the phone breaking down, being lost, stolen, accidental deletion of the files, etc.

You should also consider backing up the contacts list to the computer as well. There should be an option in your contacts to save them in a file as well.
