Trying to click play on my DVD.

I burned my movie onto DVD.
I put it into my VCR.
It comes up to the movie.
But instead of saying on the screen 'PLAY'
it says 'MOVIES'. And it won't let me click play or movies.

What software did you use to burn the DVD and what settings did you use?
