Trying to find an Analog to Digital converter

Hello,

I am trying to find an Analog to Digital converter. I can only find the opposite (Analog out/Digital in, when I need the opposite.)

My TV is a RCA LED55G65RQ: (Microcenter link) https/goo.gl/BVni6S

I need this but opposite: (Newegg link) https/goo.gl/Cljbhx

I am new to home audio so I tried a few things before coming here with little experience and Google shows me answers that don't really help. My LG speakers only have an optical port so I have no other options. I have a port in my TV labeled SPDIF which I thought was this (Newegg link) https/goo.gl/bmYBmB It is an orange port that looks like 3.5mm jack but i suspect it needs a digital coax cable. I'm not sure if using a converter and switching my input/output would work so I wanted to get some more information.

I would think the digital SPDIF connection on the TV to the Optical port on the speaker is the way to go. Why wouldn't the cable you linked from Newegg work? What LG speakers do you have?

No, you are looking for the wrong thing.

If your TV Digital Out is a coax (RCA) connector then all you need is a COAX TO TOSLINK converter.

If your TV Digital Out in the the form of a 3.5mm-like jack then that cable from Newegg is it.

I would think the digital SPDIF connection on the TV to the Optical port on the speaker is the way to go. Why wouldn't the cable you linked from Newegg work? What LG speakers do you have?

The cable you're referring to fits, however doesn't push any audio out to the LG speakers, only the TV speakers. I checked the settings to see if anything else to change, but its only sound modes (ie, soft, standard, etc). It also doesn't mute TV audio when plugged in like a 3.5mm would so I'm not too sure whats going on.

The speakers work when plugged into other devices directly like my PS4 or cable box

Sounds like you gave up the moment you plug it in and nothing happens. U know this is not that easy.

Must go into TV menu and explicitly tell it to use "external speakers" and there maybe something nearly for PCM/Surround, try both. AND if you want your TV to control volume because your soundbar doesn't give u volume control then you pray TV's menu gives you an option for VARIABLE AUDIO OUT.

I believe that's Analog out (for headphones, etc). I believe the Digital out is the bottom one and is coaxial digital out, in which case you would need a converter. Still looking what info I can find. Can you post a pic of both speaker and TV connections panel?

https/ibb.co/m9aABF is the port picture. I'm plugging the SPDIF connector to it, it fits but does not produce any sound from the speakers, only the TV. Someone earlier said I just gave up after plugging it in, but I assure you all TV menu options have been explored. PCM/Surround was turned on/off prior to this.

I was looking at that too, from the port picture I showed earlier it looks like a coax fits in there, but like I said I wasn't sure and I wanted to get advice before sinking more money taking shots in the dark.

Your TV pic helped..that is a Digital output, but not the same as the Digital input on the speaker.
The TV is Coaxial (SPDIF), and the Speaker is Optical. The adapter I linked is the best solution to get best
audio quality from the TV to the Speaker, tho you may find a better adapter. Note that it will have to be an 'Active'
adapter (meaning requires power) as opposed to Passive which won't do sh!t
