i have my PC and my PS4 hooked up to my livingroom TV. Games sound sooo much better through my PC speakers, and i was wanting to use the RCA out from the television to the Line-in on my PC so when i play PS4 i can hear it through the nice speakers. My problem is that no sound comes out when i hook it up this way ... I have to be missing something

The thought occurs that the link from your ps4 to your tv is HDMI, this is digital. The RCA is analogue. Most tvs won't output analogue if the inputted digital signal is protected, mine certainly won't.

Have you tried connecting the ps4 directly to your pc?

pretty sure it's gotta be possible, why else would they have a red and white rca plugs in the HDMI section on the back of the TV?? my guess is for home sound systems, and it shouldn't see this as any different .... i guess the real issue im having is getting the PC to play the line in through it's own line out

I would ask how it's labelled. You can connect a pc to the tv through the hdmi port, but it doesn't always carry audio (early pc graphics cards can be converted from dvi to hdmi but the card didn't integrate the audio signal, this had to travel separately) so there's usually an analogue input for that audio, mine is a 3.5mm stereo jack.

mine has 3.5 for VGA only, I get sound fine with HDMI through TV on the ps4 but i wish i could get it to go through the PC speakers, the only other port on the PS4 is optical... what are my other options? this has to be a simple fix that im looking over or something

SOLVED IT!!! I'm a goof, there is a separate area on the back of my T.V. for audio out, and i am an idiot that doesn't take my time to read before posting questions :p thanks for the help though
