tv shows invalid format

how do I fix an invalid format on my tv? I can connect my cable box with an hdmi cord and it works fine but I tried to connect my amazon firebox with hdmi cord and I get invalid format. the box worked with hdmi cord that was plugged into a convertor box then used rca jacks into my tv.

sounds like your tv doesn't have power on HDMI or its disabled in the TV. Check your TV's documentation about HDMI power.
