OK I have 2 questions. I've recently bought a 4k TV and a soundbar, both of which have ARC HDMI ports, and have been unsuccessful in connecting them with an HDMI cable. I've tried a few different HDMI cables that work with other devices (xbox) and none of them have worked. The soundbar works perfectly using a 3.5mm to stereo RCA from the TV to the bar, but I would like to use the ARC.

If that's not possible and the ARC doesn't work, is there a way to split the RCA's going into the sound bar into 3? A left, a right, and a mono one for my powered subwoofer? The soundbar doesn't have a subwoofer out port.

Cheers :)

arc usually require an ethernet capable hdmi cable to handle the extra bandwidth, so not just any old cable will do. usually also only 1 hdmi port on the tv is ark capable so just picking anyone won't do.

lastly, what tv and soundbar.

and if you get hdmi arc working, there is no way to get the powered sub working. maybe take back the soundbar and get one with a sub if you want a sub.

I have an Ethernet and ARC capable HDMI cable that I'm trying to use right now. I'm connecting it to the HDMI 1 input of the TV which is the ARC input. Not sure why it's not working...
If the ARC works, not having a subwoofer doesn't bother me. I just thought that if I end up having to use RCA connections I might somehow be able to connect and use a woofer as a bonus.
