Twitter account locked

I created a new twitter account and the website automatically locks down my account because it says that it thinks I'm a bot because of "autonomous behavior".

Clearly I AM NOT A BOT but it still locks my account anyway and asks me to enter my phone number in order to unlock it.

Is there any way around this? For privacy reasons, I am very uncomfortable entering my phone number on that website.

Clear cookies and then try to login. If you still find the same issue. Contact twitter support.
