Two Verizon phones. same number?

I am in a group, my sister and her family are the other members, she pays for it.
My Verizon phone went through the washer and I got new Verizon phone.
The phone dried and charged up !! it now works, but needs to be set up with a number. Get a recording when I try to call out. Now I have two Verizon phones. I would like to have one I keep at the house and one I keep in my purse. Can I have the number put in the first phone again?

Unfortunately, you need two sim card for both phone to work and they will have different number.

I suggest you to use your old sim card with the new phone because everyone knows your old phone number right?

And use the old phone with the new sim and throw both the sima card and the old phone away when the old phone die.

I don't think the old phone will last long. Sure it works now, but the circuit board is going to slowly corrode.
