I sometimes have the thought that Earth is like the Mississippi of the Galaxy. Now, does it really matter who are "space ambassador" is? We might as well send Bush. I mean, it's not like we are going to look all that great no matter who we send.

And, my apologies to anyone from Mississippi, but come on..you know what I mean.

Sounds like one of the globalist elite got a bright idea from this:

"Outer Limits!" In an episode entitled "The Architects of Fear", which aired in 1963, a bunch of scientists create a phony alien visitor and alien spaceship with which to scare the people of planet Earth into abandoning nation-states and merging into a single planetary society.

This is a hoax.

I am always surprised how dumb people are. Well, the world needs ditch diggers too.

[citation][nom]utengineer[/nom]I wonder what the Vatican thinks about this.[/citation]

The Vatican said in 2008 they acknowledge there could be smart form of life on other planets in the universe and that this believe does not contradicts catholic believe in God... So, everything is getting in place for a future "Contact". Or maybe they already know more, go conspiracy theories. Weird positioning anyway... :)

onestly i think teh whole debate of intelligent life forms and first contact , ect ect , is all relaly pointless , stephen hawkings and most posters on ehre are thinking in human terms .. consider this

what is your opinion of , say a dog , a cat , what about an ant , or a differnet small insect ??? do you consider anyof those as truely intelligent ???

give it some thought , in all likely hood any alien race that makes it out here , might not even reconise humans as being an intelligent species their entire concepts of life , culture , religion and what constitutes intelligence might vary so differntly from ours that we don;t register on their "radar: as any thign other than another animal , that if they even reconise us as "living organisms: . they may be sillicate based and there for have a completely different definition of what constitutes as "living" , ior they may jsut simply think of us as crude animals. who knows.

i hoenstly think that there is most likely other life forms (aliens) that are similar to us , but given teh vastness of space ,i think there also are just as many aliens that are truely "alien" to us .

if an alien race were to come all the way here I think that they would have the know-how to do a little interstellar mining and would likely not even give a crap what is on our small and insignificant planet...except maybe a little scientific research on lesser cultures kind of like we study ants and other animals

UN really needs things to do, but in all honesty, if we humans continue fighting with each other, there's no way we would be able to select one ambassador that would represent us all.
