have Windows Vista laptop. After successfully backing up and restoring a system partition to a different hard drive from the original one, I was not able to reboot the system without using a CD.
Can you tell me what could have caused this to happen and what I might do differently?
Many Thanks,

Macrium Reflect actually has a drive cloning feature even on the free version. I haven't used it before but others here have successfully, do you see that option?
What did you use do backup/restore?

The only way to really do this correctly is to use certain Cloning software so the drive is configured correctly to be a boot drive.

Thank you for your reply, Rogue Leader.
I used Macrium Reflect version 6 to backup and restore.
What type of cloning software would you recommend?
Many Thanks,
