Unable to unlock Phenom x2 560BE

I have brought Asus M5A78L-LE motherboard to unlock my phenom x2 to a x4.I tried doing it by pressing 4,by bios,by selecting one core at a time but nothing works.Is it a problem with the CPU.Can you please suggest a solution for this!

well I would suggest not doing that. The cores locked may be damaged and therefore may cause ur system unstable (I have seen that on forum and one of the guys even ask how to lock those broken cores again). U would rather buy a true Phenom II X4 CPU to change ur dual-core one if u'r badly need for performance.
