I need to do an upgrade on mi current PC:

Elitegroup G31T-M9 (V1.0),
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300,
4 Gb Ram DDR2,
Sapphire HD 6870,
Regular PSU 500W

This are my options:
-Standart Laptop plus MOBO, CPU and RAM upgrade (Maybe an i5, with 8Gb RAM, and a microATX Asus MOBO)
-Sell current PC to buy a kickass Laptop (Asus G46VWm, Alienware M14x or maybe a Lenovo) and a 24" Led monitor
-Buy a Asus G46VW, keep current rig and monitor

I use CAD programs, edit and convert vid/pictures, program and debug/program MCU,PLC,DSP,FPGA,etc... My usual PC games are Battlefield 3, COD 4 MW, Batman Arkham City/Asylum, Prototype, Portal, Dirt 3, etc
I'm planning of getting an intership somewhere in my country, and also taking curses abroad on summer...

If you decide to downgrade you might want to make sure Windows 7 drivers are available from Asus. I did a quick search and the only two options were Windows 8 and Other. Under Other the drivers available were EMI and Safety, BIOS and BIOS utilities.

Somewhere I read that Win 8 drivers are compartible with Win 7, only a small change have to be done in order to make them work... I'll take a look. In http://www.hidevolution.com/ you can take the G46VW with Win 7.

Also, the SSD would be a much upgrade on the speed of load games and programs? In my desktop I got a Seagate Barracuda at 7200...

From personal experience I can say that programs will load faster on an SSD and I've read that games will load faster as well. I can't comment on how an SSD will affect game play since I am not a gamer. After moving my OS and programs from an HDD to an SSD I have no intention of going back to an HDD as a boot (OS) drive. I still use HDDs for storage.
