I use Toshiba satellite c855d-s5232 with original memory of 4 gb. now would like to increase the memory by adding another 4gb .
bought Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz PC3 12800 SODIMM without looing details..toshiba suggests Kingston® 4GB 1600MHz DDR3L and/or Kingston® 4GB DDR3 1333MHZ Memory Module.
can I use the memory module I bought without spoiling either laptop or memory ?
I have still not tried installing it in the laptop.
awaiting answers
thanks

Well if you are using a 64bit OS then it should already be available. To be sure you can open Run window in W10 (win logo+R) and type in it msinfo32
This should open a new window showing your entire system info and there you can look if its recognizing the ram. See what it says under Total physical memory and Available physical memory
