My g930s are starting to die, with the wireless connection dropping out, the USB dongle has also recently started to turn off randomly.
One of the hinges is being held on with bluetack, i cant turn the surround sound off, the volume and buttons only occasionally work.
The on off button has to be held down for up to 30 seconds to work now (was a one button instant press brand new).

I can get g933s for about $150 ($200 aud) usd at my local jb hifi. or the g9533s for $130usd ($170 aud).

After doing some research "experts" are all saying im better of getting headphones and mic separately. But never provide examples. I cant find any other headsets or headphones at this price, with volume/ mic control, wireless, decent software and optional surround sound.

It would be nice that i only have to replace my headphones or mic next time, but it seems far more expensive to do.

Its probably obvious, but use these primarily for gaming and secondarily for youtube/netflix ect..

They are talking about using high quality audio headphones and attaching adapters to it to connect to your PC or PS4. However, the ones I've seen are not USB but instead 3.5mm jack connections requiring yet another separate purchase of a 3.5mm to USB connector. Here's a tutorial with product links:

Also keep in mind that separate setup is a *wired* setup, not wireless. Just get a one and done G933 and save yourself a LOT of headache. Toms Hardware reviewed a pair a couple of years ago and liked them:
