I am having an issue upgrading the proc and RAM in my Lenovo t440p (20ANS04504) notebook. I have done the following:
1. Removed power cord
2. Removed battery
3. Discharged static and wore an anti-static wristband
4. Held the power button down for 30 seconds
5. Removed the fan/unlocked the processor unit
6. Removed the original processor unit
7. Installed the new processor unit
8. Locked the processor unit
9. Screwed the fan back in
10. Powered the notebook up
When I power up, the power button remains lit (green) for 5 seconds then powers off. There is no error code nor a prompt for ThinkPad setup. When a swap the old processor back, I am able to boot. I've also done this same process when adding RAM. I get the same issue. I did research and received confirmation from forums, vendor and Lenovo FRU guides that I ordered the correct parts. The fact that this issue occurs when I swap either the RAM or processor leads me to believe that there may be a internal setting that I need to modify.
Here are details of each part
