Upgrading screen from 1600x900 to 1920x1080

My laptop screen mysteriously cracked and I need a new one. I have replaced it before so it's no big deal to do it again aside from buying one. My question is if my laptop can handle a Full HD screen. Regular HD and full HD screens for my laptop are roughly the same price give or take a few bucks, so I'm really considering getting a full HD one. My laptop has an Intel Core i5 and Intel HD 3000 graphics. No gaming, just browsing, Youtube, streaming sports through ESPN and Fox, Blu-ray and Sketchup.

I took a chance and bought that Full HD screen. Works great!!
