Question USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C to HDMI

Hi,

I have ASUS laptop , model: ASUS ZenBook 15 UX534FTC, with the following I/O ports

1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
1x HDMI 1.4
1x 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack
1x DC-in
SD 4.0 card reader​

I tried to connect the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C to HDMI (for second display) via USB-C to HDMI adapter but it is not working.
According to the support tech of ASUS this port not support display.
I'm wondering if there is any option to connect USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C to HDMI.

Thanks for your reply,
Yes I have HDMI 1.4,
But I would like to connect second display in extend mode (dual display, one from the HDMI and the second one via the USB-C port).
The display from the HDMI 1.4 port is properly worked but the second display from the USB-C as I described not working.
