Yes finally I don't have to hunt down usb 3.0 cables in all my usb 2.0 cable boxes!!!

Good idea to make it work upside up and down, I've had countless times where I had to spend 10 sec just to figure out which side is up or down.

I wish they would do the same for HDMI, I've also had the same issue.

Would be interesting to see the voltage they use 12 volts would allow more power from the same wire size, but all current devices are 5 volts.

100 watts @ 5 volts is 20 amps(this would require a thicker cable for sure)
100 watts @ 12 volts is only 8.34 amps.

Also "each bit is composed of 8 bytes." is actually each byte is 8 bits.
