USB codec for mixing board

Does anyone know of a good USB codec? I am using an alesis mixing board and the microsoft codec keeps playing hell with my setup

Don't usually get much choice, you could check to see if there is anything on your motherboards chipset manufacturer. I would hope that Alesis has a selection of drivers/firmware and a decent Q&A section.

what's i doing? disconnecting..dropping out? Sound on Sound magazine has some quite good forums which might be worth having a look at.

What is an usb codec? Do you mean mp3 codec, recording software or what?

The level settings arent being stored. So i continually have to reset the recording settings or else i get volume issues along with background static.
