usb connection does work for me before but now now no more recognized on the same computer why

Few weeks earlier when I connect my android phone to PC through USB cable it worked correctly and it recognized it but now I am trying to connect but it is only charging the phone and it is also not recognizing it neither anything is apperaing in the notification bar of android.

I would reboot the PC, and try it in a different USB port.
